ColdTowne's Michael Jastroch and Tami Nelson bring their award winning (Best of Fest 2005 Austin Sketch Festival and 2008 Frontera Fringe Fest) sketch comedy revue to the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival.
Lovey and Lovey was originally conceived in New Orleans in 2003, when Michael's visiting college friend, Chris Campbell, observed that the couple's rapport and drinking habits reminded him of Nick and Nora Charles from the Thin Man. Having never seen the movie, the couple rushed to Hollywood Video. For the next two years, the two spent their time practicing the continental cadence by trading quips at happy hours and on all night benders. It wasn't until moving to Austin, however, that the two had the time and creative freedom to write and put up a show together. Lovey and Lovey mixes tightly scripted sketch comedy with improvisation--Nelson and Jastroch's personal rapport allows the two the freedom to deviate from the script when inspiration strikes--and explores the couple's hazy recollections of their past, present and future.
Lovey and Lovey is performing a sketch show with Maria Bamford 9pm on Tuesday at Esther's Pool
