GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS [Austin]
Girls Girls Girls is Austin, Texas' only all-female improvisation troupe. Our specialty is creating long-form improvised musicals from a single audience suggestion. The Girls and their live musicians make up the songs, dances, characters, and stories all on the spot to create one complete story.
Girls Girls Girls has been an artistic collective since September 2003, and currently we are comprised of 9 members and several musicians. We strive to present shows that have both entertaining story arcs and clearly recognizable musical theater elements, such as singing and dancing. As a part of our development, we are continually designing new techniques for incorporating the nuances of musicals into an improvised performance.
Girls Girls Girls is now the oldest performing improv troupe in Austin and a winner of the Austin Chronicle Reader's Poll for "Best Improv Troupe." Girls Girls Girls was also nominated for Best Improv Troupe, Best Format, Best Marketing in the Austin Improv Collective Awards.

NERDVANA [Los Angeles]
Nerdvana is a two-man collections of improvised scenes and monologues. We travel from the height of academia to the bottom of low culture and where in between, running the gamut from Derrida to Doritos in a single show. Our core belief: treat your audience like they're smart and they will be. We do fast, smart comedy that can be cartoony and emotionally grounded in a single set. The goal of any show is to see what surprising truths can come out of any mundane suggestion.
Underpaid, overeducated, and unstoppable. Chris and Stephen are typical southern boys. Stephen holds a degree in poetry, and Chris wrote his thesis on the Harlem Globetrotters. This love of William Carlos Williams and Sweet Georgia Brown led directly to the birth of Nerdvana, a two-man improv and sketch group that finally answers the question "Is semantics really the right word here?"
